**This event is for CRKN members only**
Members are invited to attend a virtual Licensing Update on October 18, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. ET. This virtual session will be an opportunity for staff and members of the Content Strategy Committee to share the 2022 negotiation results to date and to discuss with members next steps in the renewals.
This session will provide an update on the following license renewals:
- Association of Canadian University Presses (ACUP)
- Canadian Science Publishing (CSP)
- Wiley
Throughout the session, we will be seeking member feedback on these renewals in alignment with the member-driven negotiation objectives set at the beginning of the year. We will also provide a brief overview of next year’s license renewals, with particular attention to Elsevier ScienceDirect and SAGE to identify opportunities for early planning. This session will be complementary to the in-person workshop on November 1, 2022, in Montreal. While the Designing the Future of Open Scholarship in Canada member-only workshop in Montreal will be an opportunity to set the direction of future open access investments, this virtual session will specifically focus on ongoing 2022 and 2023 renewals.
We will distribute advance materials via the CRKN listservs as we approach the date of the session. We hope members will review these materials and come prepared to engage with your colleagues and CRKN. Member engagement during this session will be instrumental for achieving our objectives, driving the final direction of negotiations, and building towards our collective goal to transform scholarly communication.
